Requirements for applicants

 
You: 
·        are minimum 20 and maximum 25 years of age
·        have completed your secondary education (ungdomsuddannelse) and started, in the middle of - or just completed your further (higher) education
·        you want to develop your skills and experience unpaid vocation training abroad related to your education etc.
·        are outgoing and willing to adhere to the rules and regulations of the programme, plus the laws and customs of the country concerned
·        are mature and able to deal with Rotary concerning your application in person (i.e., not via your parents!)
·        are fluent in English
  
As a goodwill ambassador for Denmark, you will be expected to speak about your country in various contexts, such as at your Rotary host club and for your provider(s) of vocational experience. You will also be expected to gain a thorough understanding of what Rotary stands for and to be able to hold a presentation for your Rotary sponsor club on your experience and what you gained from it upon your return.
 
A list of the things you must arrange, pay for and provide yourself:
1. Air ticket and transport arrangements
2. Full insurance cover
3. Inform your host family of planned arrival and departure dates
4. Visa and valid passport
5. Pocket money, including for day-to-day transport if required
 
What your local Rotary club (sponsor club) will arrange:
  1. Screening interview, including quality assurance and explanation of Rules (see under Download)
  2. Forwarding the application to the NGE coordinator at district level for consideration
  3. Completion of the Guarantee Form (page 7 of the application) as an undertaking to accept and inbound NGE student in exchange for you
 What the rotary club abroad (host club) will arrange:
  1. Find one or more (depending on length of stay) host families for you
  2. Contact local businesses, educational institutions or other organisations according to what you have specified as vocational training
  3. Assist you in every practical way, including transport to and from the airport
What Rotary Danmark Ungdomsudveksling (RDU) will arrange:   
  1. Processing of application and correspondence with the district NGE coordinator
  2. Find a host district abroad
  3. Set up an agreement on an exchange
  4. Approve and process the application papers, including the Guarantee Form, for use by the applicant to obtain a visa (if applicable) 
 What your host family will provide:
  1. Board, lodging and friendship
  2. Practical help, e.g. finding your way around public transport
  3. Assist you in every practical way
